Australia: The Fremantle Prison, or The Inadvertent Prisoner- Part 1

The day began as an ordinary day in dreamy Perth, with nothing particular to do.  Having some interest in local history, I planned a trip to the Fremantle Prison.  The prisoners of this facility built many of the beautiful history buildings in the town using local rock that they had to quarry as part of their punishment.
Everything started off well enough.  Miss Helen and I pose for a quick picture...
Visting booths appear to be typical...
Authentic artifacts increase the romantic mystery surrounding the prison...

No harm in joking about....

The trouble began with this lovely lock... on the way out, I got distracted with it and then obviously had to see what was on the other side of the door...

Inmate intake...

Australia: Wildlife Park- Part 3

Poor mama!  She was trying to convince baby that it was too hot to be carried.  Baby didn't care.

 Just so sleepy!

Kangaroos have such wonderful paws, which they use to grasp you like clingy children.  They were really sweet and lazy.   I love them!

I used to think that wombats were small...apparently, not so much!  They love to run, but even when they are not running about they are impossible to take seriously.
 Brave!

Australia: Wild Life Park- Part 2

 They are hugging!

Australia: Wild Life Park

The heat was oppressive...

The Koala bears are so sleepy and sweet.  It was hard to capture them, but they will hug each other in the trees, but it takes so much effort that once they are hugging, they have to take a nap to recover from the exertion.  I love them!
